Americans are enjoying much longer lifespans and the
need for Long Term Care Insurance has become a priority.
What is Long Term Care?
Long term care refers to a variety of needs that may
arise during the golden years. These include:
Activities
of daily living (eating, bathing, transferring, toileting,
and personal hygiene)
Skilled
nursing care
Rehabilitation
care
Caregiving
and management of victims of Alzheimer's disease and
related dementia illnesses
Long Term Care Insurance is designed to protect you
and your family if you need extended care.
You may think Medicaid or your general health insurance
plan will cover your Long Term Care expenses but this
may not be the case. As you'll see on our Medicaid
page, there are eligibility requirements for Medicaid.
Plus it may not cover the level of care you desire.
Most health insurance plans don't cover nursing home
care. Without Long Term Care Insurance, you could quickly
wipe out your savings and assets paying for your extended
care.
